Aiming to be a hotel that is friendly to the "community", the "environment", and "people"~

Takayama Green Hotel aims to be a hotel that is friendly
to the "community" that has supported the hotel for 50 years since its establishment,
to the "environment" that it has a responsibility to protect as one of the largest hotels in the area,
and to "people", who are essential to the hotel's growth and development.
Through various initiatives aimed at achieving this goal, we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Aiming to be a hotel that is friendly to the
community

  • Local production and consumption initiatives

In the Hida region, the basin's unique temperature differences, the tireless efforts of producers, sophisticated techniques, and a commitment to high quality produce not only the nationally renowned Hida beef, but also many other delicious foods.

At Takayama Green Hotel, we proactively use these delicious local ingredients to provide dishes that will satisfy our guests. As a hotel with deep roots in the community, we want as many people as possible to learn about Hida's food culture, so we hope to contribute to the development of local agriculture by widely disseminating not only the appeal of the ingredients but also the thoughts of the producers through social media and other platforms.

In addition, there are "non-standard vegetables" that are almost always discarded because they are not uniform in color or shape. They are also called "hidden food waste" because they are often discarded before they reach the market, but most of them are just as delicious as regular vegetables. Takayama Green Hotel actively uses these "delicious vegetables that do not go to market" mainly in banquet dishes, which helps to eliminate food waste and support local producers by solving their problems.

  • As a local ambassdor

In Hida Takayama, where tourism is at its core, hotels that are used by many guests from outside the prefecture and abroad are not only a tourist attraction, but also a "symbol of the community."
From this perspective, our hotel's official SNS, including YouTube, aim to promote the charms of not only the hotel but also the Hida region through videos and photos, raising awareness and interest in the Hida Takayama area.
( Introduction of related sites and SNS )

We also offer "resort jobs" to people who visit Hida Takayama for tourism purposes, offering live-in work. We actively accept these jobs as an opportunity to experience the charms of the region that can only be gained through hotel work, and are working to create a connected population in the Hida region.

  • Cooperation with the local community

We have partnered with over 80 local restaurants and leisure facilities to sell our original hotel coupons, "Tabaru Tickets," which can be used at each facility.
Not only do we want our guests to enjoy Hida Takayama to the fullest, but we also sell tickets worth 1,200 yen for 1,000 yen at the hotel's expense, and promote purchases by publishing guides and feature articles on available facilities on our company website, which helps revitalize the entire region.
    ( Tabaru Ticket Special )

Additionally, the souvenir shop "Hida Bussankan" sells products made by students at a local special needs school. As one
of the largest souvenir shops in Hida, it takes advantage of its ability to attract customers to support the initiatives of local educational institutions.

Aiming to be a hotel that is friendly to the
environment

  • Initiatives for safety and security

Providing a safe and secure environment for our guests is our greatest mission as a hotel.
Takayama Green Hotel is taking thorough measures to prevent the spread of infection so that our guests can stay and use our facilities with peace of mind.

The large public bath is subject to thorough hygiene management that goes beyond legal requirements, including regular cleaning and water changes, 24-hour sterilization and chlorine concentration management, as well as regular special sterilization treatments and water quality testing that go beyond legal requirements.

In addition, we regularly conduct disaster prevention drills and first aid courses in preparation for disasters.

  • Carbon neutral
    initiatives

We have installed a pellet boiler as hot water equipment, which is essential for a hotel.
In addition to using fuel such as thinned wood, which is a carbon-neutral resource, we are also working to reduce the environmental impact of transportation by using resources from nearby prefectures.

We are also promoting efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, such as by starting an initiative to effectively utilize combustion ash to improve agricultural soil.

  • Energy conservation
    efforts

Our hotel is one of the largest in the region with 238 guest rooms. We are aware of the responsibility of operating such a hotel and have set an annual environmental goal of reducing energy consumption per guest and employee by 1% and are promoting a variety of energy-saving initiatives.

The new wing, "Orinkaku" (opened in 2020), which translates to "Cherry Blossom Pavilion," is equipped with water-saving toilets throughout the building, and water-saving shower heads have been installed in the hotel's largest bath, "Honjin Daiyokuden" (translated as "Main Hall Large Bath"), in an effort to reduce water usage.

We have already completed the conversion to LED lighting in approximately 90% of guest rooms and the two large banquet halls that consume the most power, and will continue to promote the switchover in order to reduce power consumption.

The air conditioning system uses an outside air cooling system that efficiently uses outside air according to the temperature.Furthermore, by installing a hot water supply system that utilizes the exhaust heat from the air conditioning system, we have achieved a significant reduction in both energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

  • Community beautification
    initiatives

At the souvenir shop "Hida Bussankan", we have introduced plastic bags containing biomass,
and all of our restaurants are switching to eco-friendly products, such as using biomass straws.

We actively participate in cleaning up nearby rivers and towns, and support local beautification efforts.

Aiming to be a hotel that is friendly to
people

  • Promoting diversity

We have set the organizational goal of producing female managers and are actively promoting female managers. We also back up these efforts with various training programs according to rank, such as follow-up training, leadership training, human resource development and performance evaluation, and management training related to improving engagement.

We are actively hiring foreign personnel, and they are working on the front lines as indispensable assets for our hotel, which has many international guests.

We also actively employ people with disabilities in a wide range of positions, and our employment rate exceeds the legal requirement.

  • Educational system that supports motivation for growth

Although most of the time in the hotel industry people learn through on-the-job training, we have various initiatives in place to support highly motivated employees.

Taking advantage of our strength as part of the Keio Group, we conduct on-site training at the Keio Plaza Hotel as an opportunity to learn about the high-class service offered by a city hotel.

We support and recognize employees who work hard to improve their language skills and customer service skills by subsidizing the costs of obtaining qualifications, as well as providing awards and qualification allowances.

  • Benefits and
    work-life balance

Working in a hotel is a physically demanding job, so we offer an employee cafeteria with a wide variety of low-priced menu items so that employees can replenish their energy.

We support the realization of a fulfilling work-life balance by providing benefits such as birthday leave, quarterly leave, wedding and childbirth celebration money, and discount subsidies for resort facilities and ski lifts, as well as travel vouchers as an award for long-term service.
